Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BE Pivot Inc., doing business as BE Pivot ("BE Pivot," "we," "us"), of Austin, Texas, collects, uses and protects personal information on bepivot.com and in the social media accounts we manage.

Information we collect

• Information you give us. If you subscribe to our mailing list or write to us, we receive your email address, and your name and message if you provide them.
• Website usage data. We measure traffic on bepivot.com with our own self-hosted analytics (Umami, at analytics.bepivot.com). It records the pages viewed, the page that referred you, approximate country, and device and browser type. It does not use advertising profiles, and the data stays on our own servers.
• Social media accounts connected to our publishing tool. We run our own self-hosted publishing tool (Postiz) to schedule and publish posts for BE Pivot and for the ventures and organizations we support: Signnect, the Deaf Santa Claus Foundation, The Great Catch Agency and Fetch Fido. When a person authorizes a connection from LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, we receive the account's name, profile or page identifier, profile picture and an access token, and, for the permissions granted, the ability to publish posts and read post analytics. We do not read private messages.

How we use information

• To reply to you and send the mailing-list updates you asked for.
• To understand how visitors use our site and improve it.
• To publish and measure posts on the accounts connected by their owners or administrators.
• To keep our systems secure and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising profiles. We do not use information from connected social accounts to train AI models.

Information from Google, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok

BE Pivot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from YouTube is used only to upload and manage videos and view analytics for the channel its owner connected. Data from LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok is used only to publish and measure posts for the accounts their owners connected, as described above.

How access tokens are stored

Access tokens are stored in our own AWS infrastructure in the United States, encrypted at rest, and are visible only to BE Pivot administrators. We delete a token when an account is disconnected.

How we share information

We share information only with providers that help us run the site and tools, under contracts that limit their use: Amazon Web Services (hosting), Google (email and Workspace), and the email delivery service for our mailing list (Engage, self-hosted). We share information when the law requires it, and in a business transfer under the same commitments. We do not share it otherwise.

Retention

We keep mailing-list and correspondence records until you ask us to delete them or you unsubscribe and we have no other need for them. Analytics data is kept for as long as it is useful for understanding site traffic.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by writing to privacy@bepivot.com. We reply within 30 days.

Disconnecting a social account / deleting data: the account owner can remove BE Pivot's access in LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, TikTok or Google security settings at any time, or email privacy@bepivot.com with the account name; we delete the stored token and related data within 30 days (within 7 days for YouTube data).

YouTube API Services

BE Pivot's publishing tool uses YouTube API Services to upload and manage videos and view analytics for YouTube channels owned by BE Pivot and its group companies. By connecting a channel you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to data Google collects. We store only the channel's name, identifier, picture and the access token Google issues, encrypted, and we do not sell or share them. You can revoke our access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. When access is revoked, or when you write to privacy@bepivot.com, we delete the stored token and any YouTube data within 7 days.

Children

Our site and tools are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
